Our novice speakers all made us proud at Bogwall 2016, with Alex Clark and Cameron Boggan, and Gabriela Lis and David Peat breaking to the finals! Shout out also to Eilidh McCreath and Mark Wilson, who broke as judges, and Katie McLean who was CA at the tournment. Fantastic job to all of our teams and judges!
Congratulations to Nishith Hegde and his partner, Mark Finn from the Philosophical Society at Trinity College Dublin, for winning the Ned Stark Memorial Open! Organised by the Historical Society at Trinity College Dublin, the Ned Stark Memorial Open is a new science-fiction and fantasy debating competition.
EUDU's delegation to Strathclyde had a fantastic trip, and achieved some amazing results. Edinburgh EN, Nicola Harvey and Ethan Silver, broke 3rd to the Grand Final! Not only that, but we had an impressive showing on the speaker tab. Nicola and Caroline Stillman were joint 9th in terms of speaker points, while Tim Squirrell ranked 7th and Ethan reached 4th on the tab! If all of that wasn't enough, Nish Hegde was the equity officer for the competition and it was CA'd by our very own School's Officer, Katie McLean.
From Glasgow to Helsinki... our own Ieva Cepaite and Simone Eizagirre had a fantastic showing in the Mini, showing Europe exactly what Edinburgh debaters can do!

Congratulations to Tim Squirrell and Nishith Hegde for breaking as speakers to the semifinals and to Morag Deans for breaking as a judge to the final of the L&H Vice President’s Cup, held at University College Dublin this weekend. Our debaters also did excellently on the speaker tab: Tim was the 4th best speaker and Nishith was the top speaker at the competition.
